When Halloween comes around, the interested participants can spend extravagant amounts of cash on both Halloween make-up and costumes. The most ambitious sometimes spend upwards of over one thousand dollars on the sometimes expensive process of having a creative, inspired costume that impresses for just one day. Who’s going to wear their Edward Scissorhands outfit again? Or what can one do with all that left-over make-up? Instead of throwing these things away, enhance the rest of your days and revisit the spirit of Halloween.
Have a Halloween Make-Up Contest
With all that Halloween make-up left over, a couple months after the holiday, people can create a make-up contest inviting friends, co-workers, or neighbors. Set a date, procure willing people to be “made-up”, and then give each contestant about one hour or more to revamp a person’s face in the most interesting way possible. Prizes could be awarded out to the winners. Not only is this a fun activity but it also finds extra use for all that left-over Halloween make-up.
Throw a Costume Party
A costume party is a fun idea all year round. Sometimes in the summer months, people forget about holidays. A good reminder of the fun and spirit of Halloween can be found in a costume party. Not only that, but those old costumes and make-up can be brought back and reused. This party could even turn into a mystery party, if so inclined. The spirit of Halloween is thus brought back and brightens up the most boring of months.
Pull a Prank on a Loved One
Although it takes a lot of forethought and courage, pulling pranks can actually be a way for loved ones to bond. Reuse Halloween make-up and costumes and pull a number of surprising pranks on unsuspecting loved ones. This could occur on April’s Fool’s Day or any day of the year to spice up your relationships. Pranks could include:
- Using Halloween make-up to appear sick.
- Putting make-up on a loved one while they sleep without telling them. They could be made-up to be a harlequin or their least favorite celebrity.
- Wearing the Halloween costume for no reason and pretending it’s rational.
- Dressing up in clown make-up and pretending somebody hired clown services.
Either activity tried will help brighten up dull days throughout the year. Halloween can be celebrated once a month. So don’t throw away any Halloween make-up or costumes; there's still so much more fun that can come from them.
